Hi, I've just had an enforcement letter from these guys, council tax liability from 2009- 2012 . 5 different liability orders from the council. Each one with a £75 fee!! This is when I lived with an ex, where the tax was supposed to be in with the rent! I had no idea of the tax payments, and since I moved out in 2011, I had no idea of the orders! I haven't dealt with bailiffs previously, but my question is
Am I liable for this? Is it worth phoning up the council to question this, and if I do have to pay, what am I expected to pay monthly as I do not have £3000 to spare!!

Do you have any proof the CT was inclusive in what you paid? If not then there is a good chance you may have to pay this & as it has got to this stage the Council may not want to speak to you.
