  • RE: PPI Claim – Co messing me about – can I engage other PPI Claim Co?

    Hi,

A very long story short. I was contacted a year ago by Ascend Finance re a potential PPI claim. I ran through everything with them on the phone for about 40 minutes and they considered I had a good claim so I agreed to start the process with them.

I filled in their forms and returned it. I heard nothing from them and following up three months later Ascend Finance advise me they have lost my paperwork. Start again.

After another three / four months they advise me that the bank have advised them that my LOA Ascend have sent to Lloyds had not been signed by myself. Start again.

After some time I am advised (by Ascend Finance) that the bank sent me a letter saying there is no claim to which I responded I didn’t receive any letter from the bank. After many emails to Ascend Finance it turns out that the individual at the bank had left their post and after a few weeks of this discovery I was emailed (by Ascend Finance) the aforesaid letter from Lloyds Bank. It was referring to the wrong bank account.

Start again – Ascend Finance send me a new LOA to sign, this time asking for my late wife’s signature (it was a joint account) and she passed away four years ago. I emailed Ascend Finance asking what they want me to do and also of there very obvious errors and insensitivities. No apology was made for this and I got an abrupt email from them with a blank LOA which I printed out, signed and returned to them asking they confirm receipt of the same which they never did.

Five days latter I receive a letter from Ascend Finance in the post stating the bank considers there is no claim and reviewing their decision believe there is no grounds for pursuing this and should I wish to take it up to do so via the Ombudsman. I have emailed them asking them on what basis the bank believes there is no claim and it would seem Ascend Finance does not wish to communicate with me any longer as they are not responding.

This whole saga with Ascend Finance has been going on for over a year. Whilst there is one chap that has made some effort to call me and try to make progress the rest of their performance is very scary. I have a raft of email communications from myself to Ascend Finance to back up what I am stating here. It doesn’t make sense and I am left wondering and with no feedback at all from Ascend Finance.

Overall a total nightmare dealing with Ascend Finance and not giving me any confidence in their professional ability at all let alone basic communications.

Can I take this matter up with another company that claims on behalf of PPI claims?

Any input / advice appreciated. Many thanks
