• Motor claim - county court

Received a county court claim form from Irwin Mitchell solicitors concerning an accident last September. At the accident I gave the other driver my details including insurance details but he refused to give me his as he was driving a company van. Heard nothing for six months until this (highly inflated) claim. I have photos of damage. They have obviously not made a claim for some reason and now seek to recover money from me. I would like to know what to do and how to send acknowledgement by DX. Thanks, Mott

welcome to LB mott9999

Here's a link to show you how to acknowledge the claim online via MCOL - http://legalbeagles.info/forums/show...313#post499313

I'm sure others will be along shortly to help you with everything else (although it would help if you could post up redacted pics of the claim form)

Most important thing to do is inform your insurers immediately.

Did you advise them of the incident when it occurred?
They will take over your defence, so do co operate fully with them!

Just found out I can't do it online, only via email. Will post copy of claim later. Thanks Kati

Thanks des8. Was a while ago and can't find documents (hire van and moved house since) Company obviously trying it on (have photos!) Will contact them if I find docs. I suspect claimants already tried and told to take a hike! Mott

You really need to get the insurers behind you.
You should be able to get thenm from the hire company, or even at a pinch from the claimant.
Does the claim include personal injury?
