PPI Claim

Please can anyone help with the next step to take. I have received a letter back re the PPI and the West Bromwich Building Society have agreed we had the PPI for 5 years, but are saying we would of been advised we had this on the mortgage and basically trying to get out of refunding us the PPI.
Can anyone advise the best next way to reply. Thanks
