  • PPI on Black Horse secured loans.

I have been attempting (without any success) to reclaim PPI from a Black Horse secured loan from the 1990s. Black Horse inform me that they have no record of my loan with them.

I notice from this web page that Black Horse have sold their secured loan business to Skye Loans. Does anyone know if this sale includes historical information regarding settled loans?

i can't think of any reason why the sale would have included any information of loans that were not part of the sale.

Thanks for your input. I am clutching at straws as I am being given the runaround by Black Horse re my PPI claim. I paid them over a £1000 in ppi, but cannot get anywhere with my claim for a refund from them.

For very old loans there is often simply no evidence and a claim cannot be progressed. It may feel as though Black horse are "giving you the runaround" but there is no reason why they had to retain such old information so they are probably just being straightforward.

Did you send them a Subject Access Request?

If you know you paid them over £1000 in PPI premiums do you have any evidence of your own that the policy existed?

I'm afraid that I don't know what a Subject Access Request is. Could you enlighten me please.

What I did send them was a direct request through the Resolver system.

The loan which I cannot find any information about was a secured loan taken out around 1992 and repaid in 1996, I do not have any paperwork relating to the loan and added PPI. I was clinging to a faint hope that Black Horse would still have some record of the loan. But, it appears that they do not.

            Many thanks for your interest.

A Subject Access Request is described here: https://ico.org.uk/for-the-public/personal-information/. You will almost certainly be charged £10 for it. It's hard to tell if it is sensible to pay this as there may simply be no remaining evidence of your loans.
