• Slander by social worker.

Hi I'd like advice on what steps to take about a social worker who has made up lies about me.

Your first step would be to make a formal complaint, and that would be to the head of the said department... There are 3 stages if you're not happy with the outcome you can take it to the next stage and so on ...

This link should give you a good insight to the procedure > https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/he...care-services/

I think we need to know more about that. If the lie is factual ie that you are a woman and she has said she is a man then that is easy to do. If she has reported that you said one thing when there was no other witnesses about then that is a lot more harder to prove.

If it is something written within a report about yourself in relation to a child then we are into a ton of problems proving otherwise and dwelling on that one piece could undermine anything else in your case.

Proof is what you need.(also Stu I'd have suggested a formal complaint to the HCPC which is their professional body or an email to the chief executive of the council where the social worker works but I'm just a radical ).

I am actualy looking into this at the moment.
( the steps of legal responcability of social workers to check confirm accuracy of information put in reports )

If its in pre court paperwork, take up the issue with teh social workers line manger, if its been on court paperwork, go through the childerens solisitors at the council.
Do everything by email, letter, not on the phone,
