Hi all
We've been forced to VT on our Citroen PCP as our car no longer meets our needs and when we tried to part x with another manufacturer the car was several thousand into negative equity. We are only 6 months from the end of the deal so only had a bit of gap insurance to pay, which we have now paid directly into the bank account of Citroen Finance and send the letter by recorded delivery - both of which they received last Friday. Our new car has to be picked up from the dealer by 31st January.
My query revolves around car insurance. Citroen Finance stated in the paperwork they sent us that they will collect the car within 3 weeks of receiving the instruction and payment from us. We've only just renewed our car insurance and would lose out financially if we have to cancel the policy and restart a new one for the new car. Are we liable to keep the Citroen insured until they pick it up as we have now advised them to take it back? If there is an overlap between collecting the new car and the old one going back I don't want to leave the Citroen uninsured but I also don't want to have to have two car insurance policies running.
Any advice gratefully received!
Thanks
Kate
