We were renting a property from 2013 to 2017 and the owner of the property is known to us already.
Still we did have Tenancy agreement and very low-level inventory shared to us thru mail.
There is not proper professional cleaning done before we moved in and no inventory check happened with any third party.
we had over deposit protected with DPS (insure scheme)
since with lots of trust and faith to owner we do have oral communication about any light fuse, water leak so and so..
During our tenancy end, we have given proper notice to him.
We did professional cleaning.
But it looks he closed DPS scheme without our knowledge and claim the whole deposit saying damaged caused.w
In the last communication he said he had a informal review of checkout with some property agent and claiming that the whole deposit detcted is valid.
He did not do any proper check in and checkout.
Now he claiming the reasonable wear and tear as damage.
Is there any legal advise how will i proceed?
1. We do not have any proof before and after (pictures) - He had some pictures (before) and after. But both are not taken in front of us
2. We did have a professional cleaning and we have a bill.
3. We did not damage any thing like Breakage or so.
we did not notified that over deposit is not protected since 2016.
Please help me by providing some legal advise
