  • PPI - charging if cancel contract

Do ppi companies pursue you if you cancel contract ? Do they issue debt agency or take you court?
I have accidentally authorised a 2nd ppi company. Claim against bank will not be successful as I don't have agreement number that they've asked for.
The first ppi company I authorised have asked for a new letter if authority and worried if I send back/authorise the bank will let them know another ppi co involved and charge me due to breach of terms

Who are the 2 companies and how did you accidentally authorise the 2nd one?

Thanks for your reply. The first company I authorised a year ago and heard little. I then authorised a 2nd company to pursue other banks but included the first bank as just listed all of them (that the 1st ppi company were pursuing) on the forms. It turns out neither will be able to do anything as the bank has replied stating as 6years plus I need a number for them to trace but I haven't got it.
Out of the blue I now get a letter from 1st ppi company stating I need to sign letter of authority again but what's the point as will get nowhere. Saying that i have signed/ returned and I am now trying to cancel within 14 days as per the cancellation period/notice on form (clearly states from date I sign and did this a week ago). They are stating the 2nd form doesn't count?? If I cancel contract will Base on first (I have a copy that clearly states I can withdraw).

      Sorry for long reply

Letters of authority have a limited time span, usually 6 months, before the banks ask for an updated one so in that respect there's nothing unusual. The contract which will have the cancellation terms is distinct from the LoA. I would simply point out that as the bank has said the PPI is untraceable, your contract (in respect of the bank in question) has naturally come to an end.

With the 2nd company you could just write to them and explain that you included the bank in question in error and not to pursue them.
