  • civil litigation - how to correctly refuse information

I am the claimant in a civil litigation with another party. The submission date for the Directions Questionnaire has been and gone and the submission deadline for the witness statements is fast approaching.
The defendant has contacted me in writing and is now asking for information which is not relevant to the case, not listed in the Directions Questionnaire and demanding a response in 5 days.
Can anyone help me put together a response to basically tell them to go away as they are not entitled to this information as it is not relevant to the case and not listed in either DQ.

Politely tell them that you are not required to respond to that as it is irrelevant to the case in question. If they believe otherwise then they should explain in full, why you are required to provide that information and how it relates to the claim
If you have a question about the voluntary termination process, please read this guide first, as it should have all the answers you need. Please do not hijack another person's thread as I will not respond to you

Have they headed the request for information with any civil procedure rule - such as Part 18 or Part 31 ?

In that case, I agree with R0b No specific format / wording - just polite and always keep in mind anything you write might be read by the Judge.
