Earnest Wilson have threatened court action if i don't pay an £8,200 invoice

I signed a contract with EW to sell my business . AT the time they told me no sale no fee . Unfortunately the building actually collapsed and i had to shut down the business . The business then re-opened 3 months later under a totally different name .I had forgotten that i had a contract with EW .(Which was under another name).
They are now threatening me with court action to claim 8k ..........The original contract was destroyed when the building collapsed so i do not have a copy .
The ombudsmen said they don't deal with commercial law .... HELP !!!!!

No Sale = No fee = surely! they trying it on?????

maybe a company no sale no fee might chase me for not selling my old house couple of years ago! interesting this one!

unless there was a notification clause that if circumstances etc happens to notify them - doubt it though or they contacted you with viewers? which obviously did not happen, then cannot see their legal right to claim fee as contract not completed i.e. sale.

You need a copy of the Contact that you signed first step then others on here can advise they are a well known company on LB

They sent one person to view in a five year period , i caught them out lying when they claimed they spoke to me !!! I was actually in hospital at the time

Claims submitted by EARNEST WILSON FROM JAN 2112 TILL 32/12/14 county court money claims is an extraodrinary 461 !!!!! . freedom of information act
