  • British Gas put a default on my file

Hi there, I just wondered if anyone had experience of getting a default removed by British Gas and could provide advice? It's only been recently put on for a value of £900 even though I've paid a lot of this off.

I have been unfairly granted a default on my credit.

    The main points are:
    - I had been paying regular payments and cleared a large amount of debt prior to a default being served.
    - No warning of a default being served in writing or verbally. I was encouraged to go to a prepayment meter saying this would be an efficient way of managing the outstanding debt but no time told that this would result in a default.
    - No legal notice of a default - I only way I found out was by checking my credit file.
    - I have offered to pay in full from today if they will remove my default but so far they have no responded.

Let me know if you have any pearls of wisdom.
