  • Financial problems

HI I had a bill from my local council for back council tax from 2010 of £600- because they said I had failed to inform them I had a jount mortgage - I still have my current Council tax liability for 2016 / 2017 and of course all my other bills - I live on incapacity benefit - I wrote to the council and offered £50 a month - on top of this years bill, which is £53 a month. The council refused and told me I had three months to pay to or court proceeding would start which would incur another £75 - I have paid two of the payments - but this month - If I pay their demand in total of £179 - I will be left with about £2.75 for food for a fortnight - or skip the gas and electric bill and get cut off and everything that comes with it - Is there anything I can do

    I thank you in anticipation
