We ordered furniture from Harveys (over £2000 paid up front) on 20th March at their store in Dumfries. On 13th May we called Harveys to find out when we might receive our furniture. We were advised that it would be received into their warehouse for quality checking on Sunday 15th May and someone would call us by 17th May to give us a choice of delivery dates. No one called. We called Harveys again on 17th May to be told that furniture cannot be received into their warehouse o...n a Sunday as they don't work weekends. They said they would chase things up and get back to us in 48 hours. No one called back. We phoned again on 19th May. Harveys could not give us any up to date information but said they would chase things up and get back to us the following day. They also added that they have until 23rd may to fulfill our order (after which ?). No one called back. We called again on 20th May and spoke to someone called Jason (time to start getting some names). Jason said he would email someone he knew in the manufacturing company and get back to us by 4.30pm today 23rd May. Needless to say - he didn't. We have tweeted and been promised some action from customer care but to no avail - again promised someone would contact us in 2 business days. No one did. Where do we go from here - any suggestions other than never ordering from this company again? Be warned - this company has no scruples when it has your cash.

Re: Harveys Furniture
You write to them saying that as they have failed to meet their original delivery dates then you now require them to deliver by xxxxxx Time is now of the essence and failure to deliver promptly and in full will require them to refund all monies paid to date.
There must be something in the Consumer Rights Act that will allow you to cancel it but I haven't looked.

Re: Harveys Furniture
Delayed deliveriesRetailers must deliver your goods within 30 days or on the agreed date. If not, the following rules apply:If it was crucial that the goods were delivered on time, you can terminate the purchase and obtain a full refundIf the delivery was not time-sensitive, but another reasonable delivery date and time cannot be agreed, you can cancel the order and obtain a full refund. The Consumer Contracts Regulations still apply to items purchased online, therefore you have 14 days to return goods.
