  • Being sacked due to mental health.

    Good evening LB's
In need of some help over here 😌
Anyway recently, yesterday actually, I visited my dr due to my anxiety and depression and she has decided to sign me off work for 1 month. I have let my work know about all of this and basically I have been told I can only take 1 week off and if I want to take the whole month I won't be coming back to a job! I was wondering if they could actually do this? I've never been signed off before never been given any form of warning for anything. I have only been working here since October last year so not too long, also it's family I work for 😐. Any help would be hugely aappreciated.
    Thank you 😁

Hi hannahd9 & welcome to LB

What is your employment status?(employee/self emp etc)?
How big is the firm? (Number of workers)
Can you access the firm's policy re absence due to illness?

Re: Being sacked due to mental health.

I'm employed by them, working part time (24 hours p/w) and I work in a nursery. And workers wise probably about 18/20 of us. I could probably get hold of it but I'm not in work at the moment well for a week at least.
      Thanks for the reply.
