  • Voluntary Termination Collection Fees

Hi, my car is due to be collected by Manheim for RCI finance, under VT.

They want to charge me £100 to collect - the other option available was for me to drive 70 miles out of my way to the nearest drop off. I didn't think they could charge me?

But stupidly, I completed one of their slips and even though I emailed a couple of days later to change my mind, is that enough for them to still charge me £100?

    Help please!

    Re: Voluntary Termination Collection Fees

It makes life more difficult but no you can still refuse to pay and it is then up to them to either leave it there or take it away. They might tell you they can't take it away unless you pay but just tell them that's their choice. If they do say that I would then suggest telling them that if they don't collect it then you intend on cancelling the insurance and returning the V5C to the DVLA notifying them of a change of ownership and any charges from that point forward will rest with RCI Finance.

Your liability is limited to the 50% of he amount paid
