  • Credit Reference File

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me if a debt collector can put an entry on my credit reference file without their notifying me or without proof of assignment re: Law & Property Act from a debt which was disputed end of 2009. PRA Group placed the entry in February 2015, they have Interim Permission. There was never any previous entry regarding this disputed account by the Original Creditor.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Who was the original creditor?

what sort of debt is this?

what was the nature of the dispute?

Are you sure MBNA never reported to a CRA? That sounds odd, have you checked all three CRAs? See http://debtcamel.co.uk/experian-or-e...which-is-best/

Will check again but the credit reference agency has no reference , only PRA who put the notice on there in 2015. Never got a termination notice but PRA say tern=minated but won't produce a copy..
          Thank you.

Can you please post a copy of the credit file entry (s) it will make it easier to interpret the data.

Will have to try again tomorrow when I have help.
There is a data dispute for this record because they put default date July 2010. But there was no assignment or default notice from MBNA,
First noted in February 2015, now updated to January 2016, they seem to have removed 'terminated' as that was what we complained about, no termination notice from O/C.
                  Does this help at all?
                  Many thanks for your time.
