  • Help with Appeal against Dismissal for Gross Negligence.

    Hi,

I'm new here and I've had a good look around to see if I can draw help from other topics but they all seem far too unique to be applied to my situatation.

I was a department manager at a outdoor retailer but I have just been dismissed from my job after 18 months service and am looking to appeal the decision. I was dismissed for Gross Negligence but the main reason for being dismissed was not following procedures which were given to my store after a head office visit. My manager at the time disregarded the suggestions and said they we would not be implementing them (this has been confirmed during the investigation by another member of staff). Since the head office visit amounts of money were stolen and due to the bad practice of the store the thief has managed to get away with it. The manager which disregarded the head office suggestions still works for the company at another branch and I have just been dismissed because of the poor custom and practice of the store.

I would love some advice on how to write an appeal letter and generally just get a few opinions on whether it is worth chasing this up through ACAS (assuming my appeal is unsuccessful).

Thank you all for your help in advance.
