I signed up for a course in welding in December 2015. I understood as it was explained to me by sales people visited me at home to explain the course. I had to pay approximately £150 a month, this amount has since arisen £177 a month.
I have been retired underground of ill-health from work approximately the last four years, I was looking for a new career there was completely different from my previous career. The salespeople said that there were many jobs to be had in this field, and that this course would be relatively easy for me to complete. Shortly after this introductory meeting my health declined, which made it difficult to continue. I contacted the supervising teaching body who said that it was fine to me to temporarily halt this course, however I would still have to go on paying. My health did not improve so I was unable to pick the course up. I have now been paying the substantial monthly amount since December last year. I have spoken to the customer service department who again advised me that I can't cancel this course without a medical letter of confirmation. I will be seeking a letter from my GP, or my consultant I am sure that neither of them we'll have time to write a letter to help me out of this financial predicament.
I wondered is anybody else had had such difficulty? I have seen posts on another site stating that work has been very difficult to find after completing this course. I have also been advised by friends and relatives that it is unlikely that I would be able to get a Substantial Post working in welding given my physical disability and limited mobility.
I am aware that I was never told how much this course costs over all? How will I know when I have paid but Everything? Well I just have to go on and on paying? Just because I can't end my contract with this finance company. Any advice would be very helpful.
