  • Cabot Financial County Court Letter

Hi I am new to this so please excuse the lack of knowledge! I am just after some advice PLEASE! I received a letter this morning from Cabot Financial regarding a credit card debt I had from September 2010. The letter states I must reply within 14 days or Northampton County Court Business Centre will judge in my absence. Should I be afraid of these threats? Should I acknowledge the debt? I have had no correspondence with them and the debt was from my previous address? I am struggling financially at the moment with rent c/tax utility bills etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks

    Hello Flossy.

Can you please post up a copy of this letter?
Cabot can't just go to a court in 14 days and get a judgement, they
must first issue a claim which you can defend only if you lose can judgement
    be made in Cabot's favour.
    Do not acknowledge anything.
Once I've seen the letter it will be easier to take this forward.
