debt has reduced without me making a payment ?

Hi Everyone

Can anyone give me a clue as to how a debt with was over £7000 and now has a ccj as it went to an old address has actually went down before it went to court without me paying any payment what so ever ? some how its reduced by over £500 ???? The debt is with Hoist
