  • Cohen Cramer/ Lowell / Littlewoods

I have recieved a letter asking for 3k lpus within 14 days or a county court claim will be issued without further notice. The account was opened in 2008 and defaulted in 2012, i do owe this debt but i have very little chance of repaying that amount or offering anything other than peanuts.

Whats my best course of action, get a ccj or try work it out with them directly?

Hi mage737, & welcome to Legal Beagles

It's what is called a 'letter before action'

So no County Court claim yet

Looks like Lowells have bought this from Littlewoods, CC being the legal representative.

Have you received a Notice of Assignment - a bye-bye from Littlewoods, hello from Lowells?

(You need to know who owns the alleged debt before doing anything else - What did the letter that you received say; did it reveal who the 'owner' is?)
