Do you recall much about the sale process?

Did the sales guy visit you once or twice ? If twice, did he tell you he was coming back for a particular reason? and what company was he from ?

              Customer Declaration

              1. By signing this agreement you offer to enter into an agreement with us on the terms set out in this document and the Terms supplied with it.
              2. You confirm that you have received an exact copy of this form of agreement (including the Terms) to keep; that, in good time before you signed this, you received a copy of the document headed "Pre-Contract Credit Infromation" and that you have read and agreed to the "Important - use of your information" section.

As to the sales process it started off by me filling out a form online that popped up on a job search site. 2 weeks later I received a phone call and an interview was arranged. The guy came round, sat me and the misses down and proceeded to sell me the course. He came round a 2nd time to tell me that I'd been accepted. He said have a certain criteria to meet as this was such a good course. I was actually surprised when he told me I'd been accepted because I can't get credit on anything, I'd be lucky to get a payday loan for £50 let alone £6k worth of finance. I was already in a debt management plan. What has really upset me is that he played on the fact I'm an ex soldier down on his luck, unemployed with no qualifications. I feel like I was robbed.

Thank you. As you've probably guessed everyone passes the credit check (well I've never heard of anyone who hasn't) Actually that's a point, I wonder if they do actually do a proper credit check - it would leave a soft marker on your credit file ( but they only stay for a few months so something I'll have to ask some of the more recent people about )

Everyone I've tried to get credit from since I was in the debt management plan has turned me down because I'm in a debt management plan. Even the sleazy companies where turning me away

Id just started work and wasn't in any kind of full time contract with the company, as far as I can remember the 1st contract I got was around the time I started this course and it was only 3 months long. I was earning around £1k a month

I think there's a couple breaches of the FCA regs there.

CONC 5 Before making a regulated credit agreement the firm must undertake an assessment of the creditworthiness of the customer.
