  • Big hello from ex-GOODF member!

    Hello everyone!

I've been a long time browser of this site but never got round to registering until now. I recently received a permanent ban from getoutofdebtfree .org for a simple disagreement with the site owners over their poor advice. If you didn't already know, the '3-letter' process advised on that site is absolute nonsense that has landed people in more trouble than necessary. It is also leading people to lose in court as it advises people to counter-claim for huge bills that have no legal merit.

Anyway, I made my point and gave them examples of people losing in court over their advice and they banned me for life from the site! Goes to show, they aren't the sort of people to be told they are wrong.

I hope more people aren't lead down a dangerous path from GOODF.org and I hope to give and receive legitimate advice with Legal Beagles :tinysmile_grin_t:

When people are faced with debt and debt collectors or solicitors chasing payment they tend to seek any advice they can get .
The FMOTL warriors think they are right and are always proved wrong in the Courts a collector of debts will chase a debt if they wish to with or without the 3 letters which im sure give them a good laugh,

Best advice to anyone is to seek help from others who can offer advice and support LB and other similar sites are a good place to start there are really few ways of avoiding debt but always worth trying

Thank you Amethyst! That is good to hear, I hope to gain further knowledge and experience from people who really know what they are talking about on here. I also follow the blog of Paul Tilley closely. Paul and Howlett Clarke Solicitors seem to be doing a great job against the worst offenders of the debt collection industry. I have a couple of ongoing court cases myself and will post up a new thread shortly.

Excellent, thanks very much Paul. I've been dealing with DCAs for the best part of two years, but am very much a newbie with the court proceedings. I hope you don't mind a few questions over the coming weeks about best practice for defending at hearing? (Currently awaiting mediation confirmation).

                Cheers :tinysmile_grin_t:

                      Hello highwire
I wouldn’t know the ‘3 letter process’ from a hole in the head :noidea:but I will say that kicking you off because you ‘disagreed’ with them is a bit childish! The people who come on these sites are often beyond their wits end. The last thing they need is the wrong info. I may know Jack about the whole legal process but at least I am honest about it.
There are some fantastic people on here who give excellent, qualified information. Just reading the success stories and thank you post tells you how good they are.
I will give your other post a bump as well.

An optimist is someone who falls off the Empire State Building, and after 50 floors says, 'So far so good'!
