  • Advice please

I have just read elsewhere on this forum that Santander had customer records dating back as far as 1923, in a warehouse.
My question is, what would the chances of them having records ie transaction slips ect from 2005, if they have already provided bank statements going that far back?

That may be the case for accounts that were always Santander, however, I very much doubt they'd have all records from all the banks they've been buying, such as the A&L and the Abbey. I also doubt they'd have been operating in the UK that long ago.

That's a difficult question since no-one knows what documents they may have. In my case, a SAR to Santander was replied to with statements for the past six months, saying if I wanted more I had to pay another £10! :scared:

It took a further six months of letters, emails and complaints to get six years' worth of statements and £50 compo in my account. I can't think what you'd have to do to get something dating back 10 years. Most banks only respond with statements covering the past six years and that doesn't include transaction slips.
