Greetings From Chavland, Essex.

Hi all & cordial greetings to all from Harlow, Essex. I'm using the forum to seek advice on some historical debt from 2008 which I believe to be unenforceable as the credit agreements were pre April 2007 and may not contain all the 'prescribed terms.

Hi,
If the debt is more than 6 years old, and there has not been a single payment (not even a penny) on it during this time.
And you have never acknowledged the debt during this time, then it could very well be statute barred.
In which case the debt still exists, but the creditor can not go to court to claim it.
They can however keep asking you to pay it, but few companies ever do.

All of my historical debt (8 credit cards, c. £22,000, all pre 04/07 CCA) are on the cusp of being statute barred as I stopped ALL payments in November 2008 (not a half-penny) , which is probably why these parasitic scumbag DCAs, who spread misery amongst the masses, have come rattling on my cage again.

Like a lot of people in 2008, I had a relatively good income, carried a lot of consumer credit at the time. Then lost my job due to the recession and consequently had my credit crunched.

Ultimately, I do wish to emerge from the financial wilderness after these 6 years as unscathed as possible, and never get in the same predicament again.

Welcome to the member from chavland. Have to ask, was it all spent on white stilletos and fake tan?(Sorry, that was your introduction of yourself and I couldn't resist, I am sure you will get lots of sound advice!)

Certainly not! As I'm sure you can gather from my profile, I am a geezer and, respectfully, not a homosexual gentlemen either. Twas spent on boozy nights and international travel if you must know.
