Can anybody help with advice on Virgin media contracts. Moving house during ongoing contract with virgin media for TV / phone/ broadband , unfortunately have been told by Virgin media that they can not supply to new address as it's not available in that area. They have said that a cancellation fee of over two hundred pounds has to be paid. My problem is the services is still wanted but they can't supply so should I have to pay a fee?

I was once faced with the same problem, back in 2005, with a now defunct company called Homechoice. They didn't supply the service in the area I moved to, despite being just 3 miles from their head office at the time! :mad2:

To top it all, they were totally useless! The broadband was sort of OK but the TV service was unusable, their customer service even worse!  But I was willing to honour my contract and put up with their cr@p service for a few more months, had they been able to provide it.

I rang them, they confirmed they didn't cover the area, then wrote to them explaining the situation, :typing: they sent me bills to my new address for the service as if it was still provided. I returned them. They got some debt collectors to contact me, I told them the story and they eventually passed the account back to Homechoice, 2006. I never heard anything further.

I guess they finally got the message! :thumb:
