Hi everyone. I am hoping someone can give me some advice. Because of financial difficulties due to my health and not being able to work, I just cannot find the money to pay my catalogue debts. I did send a letter with £1.00 to all of the catalogues asking for a copy of my signed credit agreement. I have had one reply up to now from Freemans and this is what they said "With regard to your request for a copy of the agreement. Unfortunately, your request for information under the consumer credit act 1974 does not comply with the requirements for such under the act, and therefore we are under no obligation to furnish you with the information requested. Please make the request for the credit agreement in the prescribed manner and we will be happy to deal with this for you."
Can somebody tell me in layman's terms what this means? I thought under the consumer credit act they should provide me with a copy of a signed agreement? Any help is much appreciated :0)
