I was made redundant in 2006 and this resulted in me defaulting on a lombard direct loan, did try and do the sensible thing and join with Payplan but this proved to be rather a disaster and Lombard took me to court in 2008 because i couldn't pay what they were demanding, thanks to Payplan who told me not to worry about it and I didn't need a lawyer it went totally against me.
The lawyers Anderson Stratheron acting for Lombard Direct won increased payments, (i am now on a DAS), 8% on the debt outstanding and legal expenses of £370.
Then my nightmare really began, when Lombard told me to pay a credit managment company and have no contact or pay any monies to Anderson Stratheron. I did what they asked only to have letter, phone calls, and emails from Anderson Stratheron, demanding payments and refusing to listen to me telling them to speak to Lombard Direct, they told me they were following instructions from Lombard Direct.
I tried to speak to Lombard but a call handler told me they were not going to discuss my account with me and i was to ignore Anderson and pay the credit management company i then came home one day to discover form my neighbour that i had a visit from Sheriff Officer serving court documents and knocking on their door to find out what i was doing and if i owned my car and where i worked. I started paying them again as they scared me.
When a balance was requested from them for the DAS scheme, my legal costs are now 2.5k and Anderson Stratheron will not give me a breaksdown and even with a SAR request, Lombard Direct say they have no information on me!!
Am i liable for this 2.5k as the legal cost seems to keep rising and i am having nightmares about the whole situation. I now owe more than i started to pay off 6 years ago and would really appreciate any advice.
