  • Hello and welcome

Hi, I'm a newbie here, but this looks a very interesting site. I used to be an investigative journalist with Roger Cook at the BBC, so fighting for consumer rights is now embedded in my DNA.

I've been a bit wary of joining Forums, but hopefully everyone here is supportive and don't attack each other as on some other forums! I certainly do my best to avoid argumentum ad hominem.

You might enjoy watching my recent phone call with QuickQuid:

    Best wishes, Jon

    Re: Hello and welcome

A warm welcome to you Jon :beagle:
"Although scalar fields are Lorentz scalars, they may transform nontrivially under other symmetries, such as flavour or isospin. For example, the pion is invariant under the restricted Lorentz group, but is an isospin triplet (meaning it transforms like a three component vector under the SU(2) isospin symmetry). Furthermore, it picks up a negative phase under parity inversion, so it transforms nontrivially under the full Lorentz group; such particles are called pseudoscalar rather than scalar. Most mesons are pseudoscalar particles." (finally explained to a captivated Celestine by Professor Brian Cox on Wednesday 27th June 2012 )

      Re: Hello and welcome

Unbelievable that they can record you but you are not entitled to record them.

Also, the contract was presumably taken out in the UK and not in the USA.
