Hi all

Need a bit of help with rossendales bailiffs liverpool coucil use these for none payment of coucil tax time are hard so they knocked 1ST time 30/10/12 so i went to liverpool coucil payed the bill they told me they will email rossendales and i called the bailiff told him i payed he told me it will go on hold for 2 weeks why they look in to it he came again on 7/11/12 for the same cost plu2 2 call out cost liverpool coucil did not do there job they did do it on 23/11/12 but now left me with cost to pay after the 30/10/12 is this right cant get any help off liverpool coucil as i dont ho them any money.

so they put these bailiffs on to us then when they get payed they run a way to let you get riped off help me any answers

remind liverpool council it is their failure to notify the bailif that you had paid that lead to the bailif costs therefore they are ultimatly liable for the costs!

By the way how much were the charges the bailiff charged you?

Hi thanks cost are just £24.50 i have payed for the 1ST visit then £18.00 i am not paying but the are going to go up if i dont pay but this is not down to me right

I know how bad LCC can be. I had to fight for exactly one year so i could pay my arrears direct to them and not the bailiffs in the end i went through their entire complaint stages and had to involve my councilor and the ombudsman before they changed their mind. Make the complaint in writing to to head of revenues with all facts and dates and if you have to involve your councilor

Send this, in the first instance to the Head of Revenues by Recorded Delivery. Ensure you keep a copy for yourself.

I am writing with regard to the above account. I have been visited recently by your appointed enforcement agents [insert name of bailiff company] who have charged me a total of £42.50 for visitng my property to collect Council Tax arrears.

I do not believe these fees are legitimately charged as prescribed by The Council Tax and Enforcement Regulations. I would therefore be grateful if you could confirm whether or not you believe them to be fair and honest. If they are not, I would request that the debt be recalled to the council, and all fees removed.

I was willing to pay the £18.00 first visit fee as the enforcement officers did attend on 30/10/2012. However, when they attended again on 07/11/2012 there was no debt outstanding. Given the distress this has caused me, I think it only fair that the initial fee be written off by way of a goodwill gesture. When I visited your offices to pay the outstanding balance, I was advised the enforcement officers would be advised the debt had been cleared and no further enforcement action was to take place. Clearly this did not happen.

I look forward also to receiving your written confirmation that no money is now outstanding to yourselves or your enforcement agents with whom you are vicariously liable, and that you have sent written instruction to the enforcement agents to cease pursuing this account.
