  • Apex Credit management

    Hi everyone,
this is my first post, so not sure if i an doing it right. Two months ago i got a letter out of the blue from apex saying i had defaulted on a credit card (egg) in August 2007 and i owed them (apex) £3336. They also said it had taken them a significant amount of time to trace me, i wrote to them and informed them they had the wrong person, I have never had an egg card nor have i ever lived at the address they talked of. I asked them to send me details of this account such as when was the card applied for and how much was the credit limit( My limit on the mint card i have
is £750) they sent me some statements from end of 2005 to begining of 2007, but no start date as requested. They have supplied me with a piece of paper with my
name on and an address in England I live in Scotland and have done for the past six years. Sorry for the ramble but can someone tell me what to do next.

    Thanks for listening

    Re: Apex Credit management

Hi, and welcome to Legal Beagles. DON'T WORRY! This is very common for a Debt Collection Agency (DCA). They find lots of people with the same name and send them letters in the hope one of them is the right one. It's known as phishing.

Totally ignore them. You've informed them you're not the debtor, you don't need to do anything else. If they keep pestering you, then we can sort out a letter for harassment to encourage them to stop.
