  • Hi to All

Well, I am plagued with Debt chasers. I had a business that took me heavily into debt, then I lost my job and could only find temp positions. Thankfully, I still have roof over my head. Credit cards are another story. I offered nominal payments and none of them produced any CCA. Now MBNA via Varde have taken the case to county Court and I need help. They say as I have been paying £1/month I must acknowledge the debt. I am in a Catch22 situation due to lack of money. One, I cannot afford a lawyer and Two, it is job to find someone who is on the ball. CAB lawyer knew less than me. So, here I am in a dire and desperate situation.

Hi and welcome to Legal Beagles

I'm sure someone will guide you in the right direction here.

First of all I am so sorry to hear of your hardship, and there are ways around this.
Have you also tried getting in touch with the free organisations, such as for example National debtline, CCCS etc, there are others available also that help you totally free of charge, so worth googling in the above if you've not already done so yet.

Meanwhile, I'm sure someone will be along with some useful help and advice for you shortly, good luck.

      Hi Golden Eagle

      Welcome to Legal Beagles.

Have a good read of our Debt forum http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...play.php?f=250
A good idea is tostart a thread in that section with what has happened to you and hopefully someone with experience will be able to help you further. Also, read other threads in that section to see what has happened to others and how they have dealt with it.

You are not on your own hun and they cannot push you around.

Hi, and welcome to you GoldenEagle.

Sure, the CAB are well-intentioned, and they are a brilliantly-centred resource. But in the end, it depends upon who happens to be 'in the chair' at the time that you call.

Here, if you start a thread (you may need to read through the basics of that), then you lay out your problem for all to see. It's no longer a 'one-on-one' thing - so be aware of that.

In doing that, though, you invite opinion from a whole host of voluntary LB helpers - as are the CAB advisors. Like a 'message in a bottle,' you might get a million replies, and you might get one. Chances are - you'll get a handful. Chances are - they'll have been worth chucking the bottle, though !!!

Hi GoldenEagle. sorry to hear about your situation.
You say you have no CCA's and are being taken to court. Maybe some of our more learned friends on here could advise on this but will a court adjourn while LIP waits for, firstly contract requests and secondly SAR requests?
