  • Help HFO Services

    Hi All

I need some help to deal with HFO services.

I recently received a Reminder 'Notice of Assignment' from HFO services saying the debt is now in there hands from HFO Capital. I recieved this on the 16/11/11. I then checked my credit file and found they searched it on the 11/11/11, this is how they obtained my information.

I contacted them by telephone and told them they must have the wrong person as this debt is not mine and why are they searching my credit file without my authorisation. There was no default on my file at this time.
During this conversation they informed my this account defaulted on 1/5/06 and the account was opened in 2003. The original creditor was Welcome Finance. They informed me to ignore the letter and I would hear from the in 7 days as I disputed this debt.

I put all this into writing and sent to there email (friday) and by post recorded delivery which was signed for on 22/11/11.

I today received an email from equifax to notify me of a change to my credit file, upon investigation they have added this default.

I have never reveived any other correspondance from HFO regarding this debt before. I have contacted the OFT directly and informed them via email on there actions, they have also been reported to trading standards.

Please help in what my next step is. I am so angry at the moment I just want to pick up the phone and shout at them. My perfect credit history is now in ruins. Can I sue them for defamation of character?? I know equifax wont help me but I will still report it to them first thing and update the OFT.

    Thanks
    Simon
