  • Nat West PPI and charges

    Hello to all,

    I have just joined the Banking Fight and hope the Beagle has some sharp teeth !

    I was sold PPI with my nat west credit card a long time ago (maybe 8years) and then found PPI was no help to me. I was made redundant 6 years ago and still have £6500 on the card. Triton are currently chasing me.
    I have no paperwork older than 2 years old. Can i claim back PPI and other charges? How do i get hold of agreement and old statements?

    Firstly, Triton are the in-house collection department for the RBS Group.

    Please, explain as to why the PPI cover was of no help to you.

    If, you believe that the PPI was mis-sold or, mis-applied then you should be able to reclaim the PPI premiums plus interest. Unlawful penalty charges also.

    However, prior to making the reclaim, you must make subject access requests to RBS/NatWest and; their PPI insurer.

    I would also recommend that you should also make a CCA request under section 78.

    The RBS Group subscribed to the GISC code of conduct re: the selling of general insurance; PPI.

    Hopefully, the above may assist.

          A FULL subject access request should provide all documents, but only those held in a relevant filing system.

          By making a section 78 CCA request, you should be provided the a true copy of the executed (signed) credit agreement and;
          any other document referred to in it....

          If I were you, I would require ALL information regarding the credit agreement, as is your right under section 78 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

          When you applied for credit and took out the PPI;
          did you tick the box or, sign?

          Maybe, best if you start your own thread and then others may assist.:beagle:

            I dont have any info or paperwork about my Natwest PPI...only the charges on the account. I dont recall getting any policy stuff at the time nor being asked about employment status etc. Account opened around mid 90's i think. I have now sent off SAR with £10 and will do CCA tomorrow. Thanks for your help.
