I've been looking at the site for a few days now with great interest, you see after finally being able to obtain a credit report on our move back to the uk we've discovered a few nasty surprises...least of all was a CCJ from next directory for the sum of 100 quid!!!! It had happened whilst my husband was serving *in theatre* and actually at war....there was a mix up with the post and his letters had gone to Afghan instead of camp in Germany, anyway time consuming process of returning post via bfpos and obvious stress at the time ( we had just moved overseas really) I had completely no idea that this was happening back in a UK Court someone somewhere had made a decision to stick a dirty black (red) mark on his file!!!!All for 100 quid! When we actually contacted the credit reference agency and got details of this debt it had transpired that it was actually paid....but after the CCJ had been issued...so even tho the account was settled in 2007 it stays !!
ANYWAY...my question is can it be removed or should we just put an explanation on the credit file....HOW annoying! we need a mortgage withing the next year or so and this is proving to be a nightmare!!
Thanks all and sorry for the long winded intro!!
