hi just joined what do you do if you have allready made payments to a company who have bought your debt and you want to reduce payments but they hassle you for persanel info ie working or benifits

so can any one help

don,t know how long people have to wait for replies normally so i,ll wait a bit and see what advice is out there regautding if you have allready made payments to a debt recovery agency

When you say Debt Recovery do you mean a Debt Collector ?

read that curly but its from a company called marlin and i have allready made payments to them but they want all my info reguarding wether i,m working or on benifits say i,m not allowed to reduce my payments to them till i give them my details

SO go on the offensive and demand proof that they actually have the lawful rights to even demand payments on this account.
A simple Prove It (post #4) goes a long way.

Of course more details would also be helpful..

ive been paying them for over a year had no probs with that as i do owe the money on my credit card but now i can,t afford to pay what they want per month so i told them i want to reduce the payment they say ive got to provide them with proof of income and all that but its got nothing to do with them what my income is and also it was a yorkshire bank credit card i have not actually taken any money from them

If, you have already made payments, they are probably re-assessing you.
Please bear in mind that, these firms are commission driven...

Your priority debts come first!
And then, anything is left over after your (reasonable) living expenses, that can go to pay off your creditors.
But, Marlin cannot make you pay more than you can afford.

you will have to send them an amended I&E assessment and a letter explaining why your circumstances have changed requesting again that they accept the change.
