  • Consumer reviewer rights

    Hi everyone,

I have just joined the forum and was hoping that someone out there may be able to give me some advice about the rights of reviewers posting their thoughts of a company on a consumer review website.

Specifically I want to know if a reviewer can complain about something that they have agreed to by signing the terms and conditions. For example someone complains that they have been charged extra for excess baggage despite having the information of limits in there booking documents. Can the company make the reviewer take down their review on the basis that the customer had the information before checking in?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

can you give a bit more info or perhaps an example, ie did you say "i think their allowances are ridiculous", a view some of us would share re budget airlines?

      Hi leclerc,

To be honest, it was more of a hypotehtical question. Quite often when you buy or pay for something you have to agree to a whole raft of T's and C's which your average Joe does without, perhaps even reading them. 99 times out a 100 it does not matter but that one time when for example you return a hire car just with just off a full tank, or buy something online that the company does not have in stock and you have to wait 30 days for the refund, could you go to one of these sites and state that you felt it was unfair (despite having agreed to it).

I hope I made that clear to understand. It is the priciple rather than the content of what you write.

There are sites like ciao.co.uk and moneysavingexpert and this one where people DO say that.
