  • D G Solicitors and interim charging order

    Hello

I found this site today after receiving an interim charging order from the county court and I am feeling sick with worry. I will condence the background details to this situation, during the whole divorce process my soon to be former husband requested the court deal with the financials surrounding the divorce and division of the equity in the house, because I earn £14,500 and my children give me £100 between them a week board, I was told I didn't qualify for legal aid, and my solicitor cut me loose, telling me the options were, retain her privately for £109 per hour or represent myself, so I had to do the latter. At court after his solicitor initially tried to brow beat me with an unacceptable deal, I managed to get the settlement I wanted and 5 months to find somewhere to live, and as I have several dogs, renting was never going to happen, so I managed to find a tiny house for me, my daughter who is in her final year at college and the dogs, (my son is going to have to find a rent on his own) the problem is this, despite HSBC writing to me last week acknowledging I am experiencing financial difficulty, and asking if I would like to take the opportunity to make a full and final, discounted payment on the defaulted personal loan I have, and me writing back that I would welcome the chance, as I would have a very small amount of money left over after conveyancing costs etc following the transfer of the house to my stb former husband, however, the order was requested by D G in April and allowed by the court in June! The amount of money the D G sols want is in excess of the piddling amount left after the house purchase, and would leave a minus of £1000, meaning no money to pay conveyancing expenses and moving costs, also because there is a charge against the property now, the stb ex has to be told, and the money won't be drawn down without the judgement being satisfied, no money, no purchase and I am back to trying to find somewhere to live with the clock ticking. I have emailed to court and HSBC today, but it being the weekend I can't actually speak to anyone, and from what I can gather reading about D G sols, they are pretty illusive when trying to contact them, I fully accept the debt is of my own doing, but I have been so worried about speaking to anyone about it, it has become a downward spiral, which of course has now reached the bottom, I don't know what to do or where turn, please can anyone offer any advice because I am so scared of what is to come at court in August.
    Thank you.
