    Hi everyone...just joined...so please be gentle any help will be great.

    I have just checked my credit file and found a default from Lowell Portfolio for a mobile phone I never had! How can I make them take the default of my credit file...I have sent them letter recorded asking for copy of default and proof of credit agreement.

    I will be on here asking loads... I want to improve my credit rating to get a mortgage.

    Anybody know how much you can settle a debt agency for Barclaycard I owe them 10K probably 6K is interest.. help needed

    Well it's down to Lowells to prove that the default has been correctly applied, if not it's off to the FOS..

      Which DCA is the barclay account with? Several agencys I work for are good for 20-40% off, so wouldnt reflect the true figure if you pay it back. If the debt is purchased 25-50% of the balance to settle is a safe bet. When you ask for a figure, dont be pressured into paying a 'token payment' if you plan on disputing the debt at all later (you dont really wanna pay do you?!). If they tell you its payable in xx days, dont worry about that either, im sure the next DCA will offer the same!!
