£250 charge if no return of virgin set top box

Hi all...
I am new to these posts...
Nice to meet you all...
Got really mad today (and) still am...
A 'representative' of virgin media called to collect a set top box that was no longer used by me after we transferred over to free TV service but carried on with internet and phone service from Virgin...
This was nearly two years ago...
They have just turned up and informed me that if I do not return the box I will be charged £250.00.
Any help out there - I am really mad!!!
I have been with virgin around 5 years now...

I think you need to write to them explaining that it is unreasonable of Virgin to expect their customers to store unwanted and unused equipment.

Especially given that you have requested they send someone to collect it numerous times during the 2 year period and have been ignored......
