Mackenzie Hall calling my work mobile

Hi

I have some debts from a messy divorce, they are near 6 years old, 1 fell off my credit report today.

I am worried by a phone call i received on my work mobile today, sorry to be a bore but i am really worried by this.
I answered the phone by stating my name, the guy then asked if i was who i said i was, i had no idea it was a DCA. i replied yes, he said he was calling from Mackenzie Hall and it was regarding a serious debt i had.

I probably didnt do the correct thing but i panicked a bit so i hung up. He immediately called back and left the following message:

"Good morning this is a message for ..... ...... You hung up on me very rudely, its John from MH, i got your number from your workplace. Ill arrange for someone to call round either there or at home in the next 2 days.
If you want to deal with this over the phone your welcome to my number is 08444115612 and your reference number is ........... as i said you have until Friday around 3pm to deal with this over the phone, thank you"

I really dont want these people turning up at my workplace or home as i lodge and it would be awfully embarrasing.

Any advice on how to deal with this would be most appreciated..Thanks

Ignore them, they will not turn up at your place of work or your home. They are full of hot air.

What is more is that 'John" is probably about 12 and hasn't got a clue.

Is this debt about to be Statute Barred too? I would imagine it is, which is why they are chasing you.

If I were you, I'd change my number.

Mucky Hall specialise in completely uncollectable debts either statute barred or totally unenforceable.

Feel free to ignore ANYTHING they have to say.
IF they can be bothered to call again, simple state that you require all future communications to be in writing for the avoidance of doubt.

You may well get a letter/call from Meritforce, Mucky's doorstep division, but they can also be ignored.
