  • Hi everyone

    Hi,
I am looking for some car insurance related advice. My insurance premium has gone up by £1000 on changing from a foreign licence to a British one.
I was under the wrong impression that my premium would go down.

    Regards

    Re: Hi everyone

I would imagine they are treating you as a new driver as when you apply for insurance it will ask yo how long you have held a UK license (which aint long). Presumably, you've been using something like Confused.com which doesn't give you the option of telling them that you have many years driving experience in Europe.

I suspect your only option may be to talk to the companies individually by phone to explain your circumstance so that they understand that you are not a new driver.

Others will be along with more knowledge in this area to help you, but I think the above is your problem.
