Hi i am brand new to the site but wanted some advice and i can see that my concerns are shared by other members.
The issue - At 11:00hrs today i was phoned out of the blue by CLIENT CONNECTION LTD. They "Paul JAMES" told me that my name had come up on a list in relation to credit card companies miss selling their products. In a nut shell, he told me that if my interest rate changed, my limit was increased then i should sign for every change to my account and a check should be made to ensure i can meet the new payments and so on. All very plausible i thought.
He then asked if i had any of the following cards, any from MBNA, Mint, Egg and the Halifax group and some others. I told him i had a Sky card and a Virgin. "GREAT NEWS" he stated they are some of the worst !
He explained that due to the above issue of miss selling and other changes they act on my behalf and using the one of the top two firms in the country "FORBES & DOUGLAS" they aim to make a claim and reset my balance to 0, in effect writing off the debt and getting me a refund on all payments i had made to the CC companies. They have a 98.6% success rate, how could i loose.
The fees - FORBES & DOUGLAS take 30% of any cash paid back over £1500 and CLIENT CONNECTION Ltd only wanted £499 per card now over the phone !! But of course i would get a full refund if i did not win but i would be unlucky as i would be in the 1.4% bracket.
Reassurance - Dont worry we are regulated, http://www.claimsregulation.gov.uk/details.aspx/16588/Client_Connection_Limited_/2 and took me to this government site which i thought "SUPERB" and nearly signed up. On the site CMR: Claims Management Regulation i entered their registration code CRM16588.

UK Claims Manager. I asked if i could have time to think about my options and could i call back. Proffesionally and quickly the excuses started coming about customer services blah blah and he would phone me back in one hour. "I DONT KNOW WHAT CHECKING YOU CAN DO WE ARE REGULATED BY THE GOVERNMENT, WE ARE ON THEIR SITE" 15 minutes later he phoned back to appologies to inform me his supervisor had been listening in and he had been told off as he told me the fee was £499 per card where it was actually per person / claiment. I told him a wasnt prepared to pay immediately over the phone and could he send an info pack. Apparantly that cost the solicitors money and the cost to the environment wa too great to send out packs. So he is phoning back tommorrow.
I am sure i know the answer but, it sounds too good to be true "IS It ?"
Sorry for the long post but wanted to be detailed and if a scam which i suspect it is people may look and have been told the same.
Thanks Dale.
