  • Holiday entitlement confused

If I work 4 days a week Tuesday to Friday (30hours) I am entitled to 22.4 days holiday a year..... regardless weather I work Monday or not.

Also another question...... Monday is more normal day off , if it's a bank holiday on the Monday , am I entitled to extra pay or a day off..... even though it's not a day I work?

My employer said I am entitled to 20 days holiday including Good Friday,Xmas day, boxing day , and New year's Day
So In theory 16 days plus 4 bank holidays as above.

    I told her I'm entitled to 22.4 ( 22 and a half days)
She said as I only work 4 days Tuesday to Friday and not Monday so I'm only entitled to 16 plus 4 bank holidays.
    She said it's 4 days( what I work) x 4 weeks=16
Currently working 3 days a week but from mid January they want me do another day.

I presume a person working 5 days per week has 20 days plus the 8 bank holidays equals 28 days.

Therefore as a part-time person and to ensure you are not treated less favourably to your full time colleagues, your holiday entitlement is pro-rata of the 28 days regardless off whether a Mon is a working day for you. Based on this the calculation of your holiday entitlement is:

    28 / 5 = 5.6
    5.6 x 4 = 22.4 days.

    Your calculation is correct.
