  • council tax judicial review

judge waited for 30 mins for council to appear ,
after 30 mins he peaked in the hall when i saw him he then came in shortly afterwards ,
judge also asked someone else to call the council but they came back that no one picked up the call .
the council sent a defence submitted 2 days before the hearing but i had no copy .
the judge then asked the clerk in the hall to email me a copy .
they asked to arrange for wifi so i can read the document.
the clerk arranged a wifi. an hour had gone past by this time and my parking was due to expire in half hour
the initial hearing was setup for 1.5 hours
i asked the clerk to check with the judge how long should i pay for parking
the judge gave a time of 2.5 hours more at max
not only i had to pay for fuel around 14£ and parking 6.5£ i then had to pay another 6.5£ for parking.
i have to give a witness statement in a 4 (inc weekend) days but the judge asked me how much time i would need and he gave me more time.
then both parties have to submit statement skeleton argument again in the morn a day before the hearing

echat11 please advise on the process to change to n461 section 3.1 also include the second liability order for council tax. it seems the judge was favouring with the council what can i do in this regard.

your view and feedback would be highly appreciated.
when i am looking for solicitors/barrister to assist me on legal aid what section should i be looking like on the law society should it be "administrative and public law" , "benefit and allowance" , "debt recovery" or something else

I posted this in July 2024, this is not something you can do by yourself -

    3rd July 2024, 13:13:PM

This is something you can't do alone - you need to visit your local CAB office, write a summary of all the events, take that with you. CAB can contact the Council on your behalf. Call them to make sure they can see you.

Type the following words into Google - 'judicial review solicitors legal aid', that should give you some results.
