  • Housing Act 1996 - who does it apply to?

    Please could someone advise?

Housing Act 1996 does it apply to landlords and leasehold owners of a long lease in England or is it only applicable to social landlords?

I have had a look into it and it reads as though it mainly covers wales and mainly social landlords.

Possibly not as it was posted on Fri and it has been the weekend our volunteer community with the experience to assist may not have been online.

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

It's mainly about social housing. If you can explain what you are looking for, we may be able to point you in the right direction.

That's what I thought. I want to know does it apply to owners of long leases

EFPOM - I'm not sure what I should be looking at here?

There is a good deal of other legislation that applies to long leases.

Does section 81 (1) of the Housing Act 1996 only apply to social landlords and/or tenants of social housing?

What I meant to ask in my previous post is can anyone advise me by private message so that I do not identify myself or my case

No. Its application is not so limited (on my reading).
