  • Paid full and final settlement please read letter

    Dear people

I made a payment as per the settlement agreement attached, my understanding from the letter is that the outstanding balance is cleared when I make the final payment, which I did.

when I phone Barclaycard they maintain the account is closed with nothing to pay but insist that a balance still exists, which worries me as that may leave the door open to a third-party claim. To myself, the agreement appears quite clear that the matter is settled and am confused why Barclaycard want to maintain that a balance still exist? any views please. Thanks

Doesn't the second paragraph of that incomplete letter answer your question?
Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

They say they will not pursue you for the unpaid balance.
