    Hi Everyone
I am really hoping I can receive some sound legal advice on my query. Three days ago I received a letter from Wiltshire Courts and Tribunal Services. The letter stated that as I had ignored their previous letters to pay a fine of £700.02, I had 10 days to settle the matter or Bailiffs may be sent to my home. I had absolutely no idea whatsoever what this was about, so I rang the number. I initially thought it a scam to be honest, but I checked the number prior to ringing and it is valid. When I got through to an advisor, he told me it was in connnection with an "incident" at a Wiltshire train station 2-3 years ago. He said he didn't have all the information and that I should write to their appeals section outlining my thoughts. I asked about me supposedly ignoring previous letters and he said he had only limited information on the case. I do not know where these previous letters have been sent to, but we have lived in this address for 17 years. I fear someone has found ID details of me and given my former address to these people. The thing is, I have never ever been to the railway station he mentioned and I do not know what this is about. I do not know whether is is fare dodging, verbal abuse, physical abuse or whatever. I have simply no idea at all. However, the most concerning thing is that they actually have my date of birth correct and sort of have my surname correct. I say sort of because I am called O' Grady and they sent the letter addressed to Hugh Milton AKA O' Grady. I duly sent them a letter (not an appeal, as that would possibly be viewed as an admission of guilt and I was appealling against the decision). I have asked them to send me all details of the ID that was shown and all links to any/all possible visual evidence. What I have not mentioned in my letter is the fact that I am severely disabled and have been for over 10 years. I have absolute proof of my disability and I unfortunately cannot do most physical exercises without help from my Wife, such as getting out of bed, in/out of the bath, up/down the stairs and walking around unaided. I did tell them I am disabled, but I have not as yet sent them proof as I wanted to see what they come back with first. I also suffer hugely with anxiety and stress and their letter was so demanding and full on I went into a meltdown. No Duty of Care whatsoever from them, just a demand for this extortionate amount of money. I really need some legal advice on this matter. It is purported to have happened 2-3 years ago, so I doubt they actually have any visual evidence, but surely they must have copied ID proof before they allowed this person to go without detaining them? This really is worrying me tremendously. I cannot travel to Wiltshire if they ask me to, as I simply would not be able to make such a long journey. I am not seeking any sympathy for my physical conditions, but I have had numerous joint replacements and also suffer with a bone inflammatory disease. I am not a waster and I worked all my life until I could no longer do so. I am comng up 68 years of age and the actual thought of me creating some kind of rucus is laughable. I can hardly walk for God's sake. Can someone please advise me just in case these people come back at me? I am terrified I could get a criminal record at my age. Thank You.
