  • Property title number

Hi, I am sure that I saw a link somewhere to reveal a Property Title Number. However, when I search for such a thing, the impression is given that I have to pay for a random land Registry document, all which will carry the number. How do I find this number - without ordering a document - it has to be inserted on the AP1 form?

    Many thanks

    start here: https://www.gov.uk/search-property-i...-land-registry

You will need to enter to postcode, and then select the individual property. If the title is registered, some details will be shown.

You will, however, have to pay £3 for the title document (not a random document) that contains the title number, and a further £3 should you also want the filed plan.

I can confirm, as others have on that link, that setting up a free Land Registry Property Alert account and adding an address as a property you want to monitor will give you the title number of the property (as long as it is registered of course) without charge. It doesn't have to be your own property, it can any property even if you have no connection with it at all. All you need to know is its address.

And thanks for the pointer about the Property Alert service, which I hadn't heard of before but have now set up to monitor my own house.

            Yep -it works - thankyou

Given the number f folk having their homes registered as fake Ltd Company addresses, it is worth signing up for this anyway.

            Thanks again

The Land Registry monitoring service will not tell you if someone uses your address at Companies House.
